Written by David Flomo graduated from Daystar in 2001. Recently, he walked back into the DUAA Office, but this time, he wasn’t alone. Beside him stood his son, Garteh, who just graduated in 2025. Years ago, David sat in the same classrooms. Now, he watched his own son carry that same journey forward.
David and Garteh sat down with Alumni Coordinator Dr. Leah Komen. Their conversation went beyond old memories. They talked about giving back, teaching classes in Criminal Justice and Social Work, building partnerships, starting student exchange programs, and strengthening the alumni family.
Daystar doesn’t end at graduation. It becomes part of your legacy, passed down from parent to child, each one learning to serve others.
